A Proud Moment: Nellapima Now Carries Marca País Perú

We have some exciting news: PROMPERÚ, the Peruvian government agency that promotes the country’s trade and tourism, has authorized Nellapima to use Marca País Perú, Peru’s official country brand. You’ll see it on our labels, packaging, and ads. For you, it means the 100% Peruvian Pima cotton and handwork in your little one’s clothes now carry an official mark from Peru.

What Is Marca País Perú?

Marca País Perú is Peru’s official brand, a bit like a country’s signature. You may already know its logo: a red spiral that forms the word “Perú.” PROMPERÚ created it in 2011 with Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism to represent the country’s identity and heritage worldwide.

Companies can’t simply add the logo to their products. Each brand has to apply, and PROMPERÚ reviews every application before granting permission. So when you see the red “Perú” spiral on a product, it tells you the brand behind it has been approved to represent Peru.

What This Authorization Means for Nellapima

PROMPERÚ recognized the quality of our Pima cotton and the way we work with it, and gave us a Product Use certificate. In plain terms, we can now add the Marca País Perú logo on the clothes themselves. Next time you hold a Nellapima piece, check the label for the little red “Perú” spiral.

Baby clothes are what we know best. A newborn can go through several outfits a day, so every piece has to handle a lot of washing and still feel soft. That’s why we fuss over the details, like the hand smocking on our gowns and seams that won’t rub delicate skin. PROMPERÚ’s recognition tells us that care shows. You can see it across our baby clothing.

Our Connection to Peruvian Pima Cotton

Why Pima? Its fibers are longer than those of regular cotton, and you can feel the difference. The fabric is smoother, and it holds up better wash after wash. Peru grows some of the best Pima in the world. Ours comes from Piura, up on the same northern coast where our founder, Marianella, grew up, and it’s the cotton we use for every little one we dress.

Nellapima is built on the idea that quality starts with the material.

The cotton is Peruvian, the standard is high, and the result is something you can feel from the very first wear.

Discover it for yourself in our Heritage Collection or our Everyday Line.
